Jewelry Care
Caring for Jewelry:
Surface Patina:
Some of my pieces have been treated with liver of sulfur to darken and add depth to surface details. Please take care when cleaning and avoid harsh cleaners that can remove this intentional darkening.
You can wash your jewelry periodically with mild dish soap and warm water. Make sure to rinse well and dry completely with a soft cloth before storing. Use a silver polishing cloth to remove oxidation from silver. Tissues and paper towels can cause scratches. I recommend using a Sunshine Cloth. Be sure to use fresh cloths since the dirt and grit left on the cloth from a previous use can leave scrapes and pits. Use light pressure and allow the cloth to do the work for you.
STORING YOUR JEWELRY:
The best way to prevent tarnishing is to store clean, dry jewelry in a dry airtight container, like a ziplock bag with a 3m anti-tarnishing strip. This will maintaining the beauty of your silver jewelry.
Avoid exposing goldie bronze, copper, sterling and fine silver to harsh chemicals such as chlorine, cosmetics, hair spray, and perfume. Do not sleep, swim, shower or exercise in your jewelry.
